Bosco Samuele
The Samuele Bosco winery was established in the heart of Roero, in the village of Priocca. It is young in appearance only, because its roots lie in mature vineyards, some over fifty years old, cultivated on sandy and clayey soils that represent one of the most recognisable features of the area. Samuele immediately chose to work with iconic grape varieties such as Arneis, Barbera and Nebbiolo, not to replicate a codified style, but to reinterpret production through a contemporary and artisanal sensibility. The winery was created as a personal response to the canons of Roero, with the aim of producing wines with character that speak of the place without rhetorical filters. Production remains deliberately limited, because each bottle is conceived as a unique expression of a vintage and a precise natural balance.
Samuele Bosco's approach to viticulture is low-impact, based on minimally invasive mechanical and manual processes and a strong focus on biodiversity. No herbicides or systemic products are used, the harvest is carried out in accordance with the ripening times of the grapes, and the work in the cellar follows the same philosophy of consistency and moderation. The vinification process combines traditional techniques, such as prolonged maceration and submerged cap, with the use of modern equipment, avoiding corrective interventions. The winery works by subtraction, favouring concrete, steel and large barrels as precision tools rather than masking agents. The result is a clean, artisanal process that aims to preserve the integrity of the fruit and the territory.
Samuele Bosco's wines stand out for their sincere and legible profile, far from excessive extraction or stylistic forcing. The whites show tension, precision and a well-defined mineral component, while the reds move between freshness, structure and depth, supported by great freshness and measured tannins. These are wines that do not seek immediacy, but neither do they seek austerity for its own sake. They are capable of expressing themselves naturally even when young and evolving consistently over time. Each label conveys an essential and concrete idea of Roero, with limited production by choice, a natural consequence of an artisanal approach that aims to capture the spirit of the producer in the bottle.
