Barbera d'Alba Superiore 'Bricco delle Olive' Palladino 2022
“Bricco delle Olive” by Palladino is a Barbera d’Alba Superiore that is memorable for its fruity aromas and for the tasty charge on the palate, where the sharp sip expresses the natural expressiveness of the terroir of origin, Serralunga d’Alba. A label in which the typical acidity brought by the Barbera is mitigated by a full and precise overall structure, where harmony reigns undisturbed. Excellent to drink already now, it is a bottle that can still be stored in the cellar for the next five years, choosing to taste it when it has developed a more nuanced organoleptic profile.
This “Bricco delle Olive” Palladino originates from Barbera grapes from a vineyard located in Serralunga d’Alba. The vines here grow using the guyot system on soils rich in both limestone and clay. We are located about 330 meters above sea level, facing east and southeast. The grapes obtained from the destemming of the bunches are pressed, and the must thus obtained ferments in containers stainless steel. The aging process then proceeds, where the wine remains for 15 months maturing in oak barriques, until Palladino deems it ready to be bottled and marketed.
The Barbera d’Alba Superiore “Bricco delle Olive” presents itself with a ruby color, accompanied by a nice concentration. The ripe fruit, particularly the sour cherries, shine on the nose, also revealing hints of nutmeg and more balsamic nuances. Tasty and full on the palate, where the wine announces itself with good structure, characterized by a velvety and fresh sip, which envelops the mouth in a round and precise drink. A label with which the Palladino winery masterfully interprets the terroir of Serralunga.
