The Falanghina del Sannio “Janare” by La Guardiense originates in the Sannio Beneventano. La Guardiense is the largest cooperative in Campania, founded in 1960 by 33 members who shared a love for their territory; today there are about one thousand farmers managing a total of 1500 hectares of fully cultivated land; over time it has earned the reputation of being a symbol of technological progress and environmental sustainability. Within this reality, the Janare project has emerged: according to local legends, they were witches, bearers of an identity knowledge and creatures of the people. The Janare wines thus represent the ancient Sannio tradition.

The vineyards of the Falanghina del Sannio “Janare” by La Guardiense are located between 100 and 400 meters above sea level. The average age of the plants is 10 years and they are all located in the Sannio Beneventano. The soil here is of volcanic origin with the presence of ignimbrite, hardened tuff born from crystals and fragments of rock and marlstone, for a structured and characterful final product. The climate is characterized by cold winters often affected by snowy phenomena and cool summers, a characteristic that ensures the grapes reach full ripeness at the time of harvest. The grape harvest is done manually around mid-September and lasts until early October; in the winery, white winemaking occurs in the absence of oxygen and a short cryomaceration. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel for about 20 days. It ages in the bottle until February following the harvest.

The color of the Falanghina del Sannio “Janare” by La Guardiense is a intense straw yellow with greenish reflections. The bouquet of aromas recalls yellow-fleshed fruits like apple and pear, ripe tropical fruits, and notes of wildflowers; on the palate, it reveals itself to be balanced, enveloping, and elegant with an almond note on the finish and a sapidity that makes the sip interesting. It pairs perfectly with dishes based on sushi and sashimi, shellfish and mollusks, and stewed fish; also perfect with seasonal vegetable dishes and fresh cow's milk cheeses. Perfect for spring picnics with friends, sipping an authentic and genuine product.
