The Riesling Renano "Campo della Fojada" from Tenuta Travaglino is a beautiful, intense, and elegant expression of this famous grape variety. In this area of Lombardia, Riesling italico was mainly present, a neutral variety that shares only the name with the noble grape from Moselle. Travaglino has chosen to focus on the cultivation of Riesling Renano, which has adapted very well to the territory and produces high-quality wines. The label emphasizes varietal aromas, presenting a character marked by delicate floral scents and rich fruity aromas, supported by a clear freshness that gives the wine a pleasant expressive dynamism.
"Campo della Fojada" is the Riesling Renano from Tenuta Travaglino, a winery in Oltrepò Pavese, which has greatly focused on enhancing this northern European grape. The property of the Comi family extends over an area of 80 hectares, all located in the magnificent hilly area between Casteggio and Montalto Pavese. The wine is made from Riesling Renano grapes that come from mainly from the Campo della Fojada vineyard and from a selection of the best grapes from other parcels of the estate considered particularly suited. The vineyards are located at an altitude between 250 and 280 meters above sea level with a predominant exposure facing south. The soils are composed of limestone, with the presence of sandy clay components and pebbles. The grapes undergo a brief cold maceration before being gently pressed. The must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16-18 °C. The wine then matures for about six months in steel and a few months in bottle.
Riesling Renano "Campo della Fojada" from Tenuta Travaglino is the young and fragrant expression of the grape variety. Pleasantly immediate and satisfying, it is an ideal wine to enjoy with seafood appetizers, with first courses featuring shellfish, or with delicate white meats. Of a beautiful straw yellow color with slight greenish reflections, it seduces the nose with scents of acacia flowers, hawthorn, notes of citrus peel, aromas of white-fleshed fruit,
