The Soave Classico “Monte Grande” from the Graziano Prà winery is a white wine with a strong personality, intense, fresh, and mature, that perfectly expresses the noble tradition of Soave whites. It is produced with a majority percentage of Garganega, which gives structure and rich aromas, complemented by a small balance of Trebbiano di Soave, which contributes its lively freshness to give momentum and smoothness to the sip. The quality of the grapes and a long aging in wood provide a complex and mineral white, an authentic expression of the terroir and the art of a great winemaker.
The “Monte Grande” is a Soave Classico that comes from the grapes of the homonymous vineyard of about 40 years of age, located in Monteforte d’Alpone, in the heart of the historical area of the denomination. It is an old family property that marked the beginning of Graziano Prà’s adventure in the world of wine. Today it is recognized as one of the most important crus, capable of producing grapes of extraordinary quality. It is located at about 150 meters above sea level, with a sunny exposure facing south and on volcanic soils. During the harvest, the branches of the clusters are cut, and the grapes are left to wither on the vine for about a month, in order to promote a natural concentration of aromas and sugars. The soft pressing and fermentation of the must flower take place in large Allier barrels of 15 and 20 hectoliters, at a temperature of about 18 °C. The wine matures for 10 months in large Allier oak barrels of 30 hectoliters and finishes aging with a few months in the bottle.
The white Soave Classico “Monte Grande” by Graziano Prà is one of the reference labels for those who want to know the best excellences of this territory, historically suited for the production of great whites for aging. Born from a cru of particular value, the wine presents a light yellow color with bright reflections. Elegant and intense, it captivates with aromas of citrus, loquat, yellow-fleshed fruit, peach, hints of pineapple, and aromatic herbs. The sip is savory and rich, characterized by a pleasant expressive maturity, well balanced by a very fresh and mineral finish. A must-try label.
