Distilleria Indie

Distilleria Indie is the creator of 100% Italian premium spirits and liqueurs produced with a genuinely environmentally respectful approach, as demonstrated by the “Carbon-Neutral” certification, the first ever obtained by an Italian distillery. Located in San Pietro In Campo, in the province of Lucca, this young production reality, founded in 2022, aims to convey the aromas and flavors of the Belpaese in the bottle, particularly from the Tuscan Apennines and Sicily. All this while pursuing a truly green production philosophy, based on practices such as the use of renewable energy, optimization of production processes, use of recycled materials, and planting new trees to absorb atmospheric CO2. This distillery was born from the vision of Francesco Marcucci and Saverio Bertagni, young individuals strongly determined to create high-quality spirits and liqueurs without impacting the environment.

The production process of the gin from Distilleria Indie, the first product presented by Francesco and Saverio, begins with the careful selection of botanicals from the Italian territory, including juniper, sage, and rosemary from the Tuscan Apennines, as well as lemons from Sicily. All these ingredients undergo a slow infusion in pure cereal-derived alcohol, followed by distillation in bain-marie stills that prevent direct contact with the heat of the flame or steam, preserving the aromatic integrity of the botanicals to the maximum. Once the distillation phase is complete, the gin is diluted with pure water sourced from the spring of the Tevere River in Monte Nerone, in order to lower the alcohol content. Finally, the distillate is refrigerated for three days at a temperature of -15 °C and is then filtered before final commercialization.
