Michel Rocourt

In the renowned wine region of Champagne, within the prestigious area of Côte des Blancs, the Maison Michel Rocourt stands out for refined Champagne that reflects the characteristic minerality of the territory. Located precisely in the municipality of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, this winery with the status of Récoltant Manipulant is led by Florence Rocourt and Damien Grzeszczak, who personally oversee every phase of the production process, embracing a craft spirit aimed at preserving the values that their respective families have passed down. The history of this French sparkling wine reality began in the 1960s, when Florence's parents purchased the first vineyards, officially founding the Michel Rocourt house in 1975 with the bottling and marketing of the first bottles. A few years later, a new winery was built, and starting from 2003, the Maison became part of the Vignéron Indépendant association.

The vineyards of the champenoise estate Michel Rocourtare located in the villages of Mesnil-sur-Oger, Vertus, and Villeneuve, the first classified as Grand Cru while the parcels of Vertus and Villeneuve fall under Premier Cru. The age of the vines ranges from 35 to 50 years, and the winery exclusively works with Chardonnay, the symbol variety of Côte des Blancs, planted in the classic chalky subsoil of the area. The exposure of the rows varies from northeast to southeast, and sustainable agronomic practices are adopted in the field, as evidenced by the HVE certification (High Environmental Value) obtained in 2019. For the vinification of the sparkling bases, stainless steel tanks or small oak barrels are used, while the aging on the lees, following the secondary fermentation in bottle according to the Champenoise Method, ranges from a minimum of 18 months to over 10 years. The Champagnes are finally dosed Brut, Extra Brut, or Demi-Sec, or not dosed at all, depending on the characteristics of the reference wine.

more or less complex, always characterized by notable typicity.
