Reyka

Reyka is the vodka produced by the namesake distillery in the remote village of Borgarnes, on the eastern coast of Iceland. It is the first Icelandic distillery, founded by the William Grant & Sons group and managed by a team of technicians skilled in the art of distillation, led by master distiller Thordur Sigurdsson, who also serves as a police officer and firefighter in the village. In a magnificent and unspoiled natural setting, dominated by imposing glaciers and underground volcanoes, one of the purest and most original vodkas in the world is born.

The raw materials used by the Reika distillery for vodka production are: local barley and wheat, artic spring water and lava rocks for filtration. The production process is based on a single small batch distillation lasting 6 hours, carried out by a traditional copper Carter-Head still. Each distillation cycle produces no more than 1500 and is entirely powered by renewable geothermal energy, derived from intense volcanic activity.underground of the island. For this reason, the environmental impact of the entire production process is zero. The high purity of the local air, characterized by very low CO2 levels, contributes to the uniqueness and aromatic purity of the distillate.

The Reika vodka is a soft, fresh, fragrant, and floral distillate, with subtle and pleasant cereal notes. Various international competitions have crowned it as one of the best and most innovative vodkas in the world: a high-level vodka born in perfect symbiosis with the surrounding territory!
